AN INTRODUCTION
“Of making many blogs there is no end, and much scrolling is a weariness of the flesh.”
So might Solomon have written if he were alive today. My name is Chris Ross, and I created The Daily Scroll for people who enjoy reading Christian blogs, but don’t have lots of time to surf the web each day. Here you’ll find links to the latest and greatest posts appearing around the faith blogosophere.
I am a husband and father of two from College Station, Texas. I have degrees in psychology (Texas A&M), theology (Dallas Theological Seminary) and church history (Edinburgh). My main research interest is puritan history and spirituality. In 2005 I started my first blog on this very topic, with a “conventicle” of other graduate students in Edinburgh, Scotland.
DISCLAIMER
Please note, the fact that I quote or mention a particular person, church, or organization here does not mean that I share their religious, political, or philosophical convictions. It is your responsibility to seek out the truth (especially in matters in which professed Christians disagree; see Rom. 14), by means of
- Scripture (2 Tim. 3:16),
- the Holy Spirit (Jn. 16:13),
- your own mind and conscience (Rom. 12:1-2; Acts 24:16), and
- the counsel of the church’s pastors and teachers (Eph. 4:11-12).
In other words, scroll discerningly.
HOW TO GET YOUR BLOG CITED ON THE DAILY SCROLL
(Before reading this, make sure you’re not already on the Daily Scroll blogroll.)
I would love to be able to scour all of the Christian blogs out there for worthy content, but that just isn’t possible. If your blog meets all of the following criteria, please let me know and I will add you to the list of blogs I scroll daily:
- You’re a Christian.
- You write original material for your blog, at least some of the time … in other words, it isn’t simply a collection of rehashed material like The Daily Scroll.
- You post on a regular basis (one or two posts per month, at least).
- You link to The Daily Scroll, ether with a simple hyper-link or with a button.
